Thank you…

Attention LPFFA members who attended the Stroud Crescent house fire on Sunday, March 23, 2014, we were asked to share this thank you note with you.
A special note of thanks to the author and her fiancé for ensuring the safety of the family and making that ever important 9-1-1 call to get emergency responders on route.

Dear London Firefighters,

London Fire Fighters extinguishing house fire on Stroud Cres

(MIKE HENSEN, The London Free Press)

Today, for the first time, I saw a house fire in action. We were first on the scene. My fiancé was the one to bang on the door and get the family out. I called 911.

It was indescribable. The heartache, the horror, the absolute confusion. But when the firefighters arrived, their professionalism and their strong sense of calm triggered a state of awe over our neighbourhood.

I’ve always admired Emergency Responders but today gave me a whole new sense of appreciation. They’re selfless, they’re strong, they’re true heroes. Thank you for all that you do, day in and day out. I pray that my family stays out of harms way but from what I saw today, we couldn’t ask to be in better hands.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
