In the hours after the event in Old East Village, the London Professional Fire Fighters continue to provide support and assistance to our injured and their families. We would like to take a moment to extend our heartfelt and thoughtful appreciation, not only to our 50 Fire Fighters who attended the alarm, our Communications Operators, Apparatus support persons, and Fire Prevention Inspectors, but also to our Emergency Service partners London Police Service – Canada, and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service. We also would like to thank the off duty medical and fire personnel who responded and helped assist with medical care, and to all the nurses and doctors and medical staff at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) who provided world class care to everyone involved. Knowing that we have your support makes our jobs easier.
We would also like to thank our Fire Administration for their support and leadership during this emergency and ongoing active incident.
Most importantly, we would like to send a “Thank You” to the residents of the OEV for their life saving cooperation and evacuation. The London Professional Fire Fighters Association is always ready to respond in support of our community in the event of any emergency, and will continue to respond afterwards. We offer our support for the Old East Village, to those affected, and those displaced by the recent events. We will be reaching out and are available to help as we continue to proudly serve our community and the citizens of London.
Thank you again to everyone for helping keep our City safe, strong, and united!
